Digital Space Tech (ABN 62 129 288 610) ("we", "us", "our") is a business registered in Victoria, Australia. Our website is digital-space.au. We operate the Poo Ping mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register we collect:

• Email address
• Display name and username
• Profile photo (if you upload one) or your chosen default avatar

Profile and Activity Data

As you use the App we collect:

• Bio (if you choose to add one)
• Points, credits, streak counts, and ping statistics
• Timezone (to personalise notifications)
• In-app notification preferences and Do Not Disturb settings

Location Data

When you send a ping the App requests your device location one time to drop a map marker visible to your friends. Location is:

• Collected only at the moment of the ping, never tracked continuously or in the background.
• Not collected at all if you enable Ghost mode for that ping.
• Stored as a coordinate point associated with the ping record.

You can also define Private Zones (areas where location is withheld). Private Zone boundaries are stored in your account but are never shared with other users.

Messages and Media

Chat messages, GIF links, and photos you send to friends are stored to deliver and display them within the App.

Purchase Information

If you purchase Credits, Apple processes the payment. We receive a transaction confirmation and credit your account accordingly. We do not store your payment card details.

Device and Technical Data

We collect standard technical data via Google Firebase, including:

• Device type and operating system version
• Push notification token (to deliver notifications)
• App usage and crash data (via Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Operate core App features (pings, chats, map, leaderboard, Throne)
• Send push notifications for pings, messages, and activity updates
• Process in-app purchases and credit your balance
• Maintain streaks, points, and leaderboard rankings
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Improve the App through aggregated analytics
• Respond to your support requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as described below.

With Other Users

• Your username, display name, and profile photo are visible to your friends in the App.
• Your location map marker is visible to your friends when you send a non-Ghost ping.
• Your Throne, points, and streak are visible on your profile and the Friends leaderboard (visible to your friends only).
• On the Global leaderboard your username, display name, profile photo, points, and streak are visible to all Poo Ping users, not just your friends.

With Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or court order, or if necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

4. Location Data

Location is collected only at the moment you send a ping (see Section 1). We do not share your precise coordinates with third parties other than storing them in Google Firebase (our database provider). Location data associated with a ping is retained for as long as the ping record exists. You can delete past pings from the App.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account promptly.

6. Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Chat messages are retained until you or the other participant deletes the conversation, or your account is deleted.
• Ping and map data is retained until you delete the ping or your account.
• Analytics and crash data is retained in accordance with Google Firebase's standard retention periods (typically up to 14 months for Analytics).

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase security rules, and server-side authentication. No system is completely secure; you use the App at your own risk.

8. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Principles)

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data. See our account deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
• Complain about how we handle your information.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Klipy) may store and process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the App you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers maintain appropriate data protection standards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice or email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
